An invitation to take part in Durham Book Festival over a cuppa

We invite you to come to a free book related session organised with the Durham Book Festival.

The Book Festival’s very own Charlie Darby-Villis is leading two sessions based around a collection of powerful and moving short stories from master storyteller David Almond. The stories were inspired by his childhood in the north-east of England and we hope our sessions will raise a smile and create conversation.

We have developed these sessions so that older people who have not been involved before can take part in the Durham Book Festival.

Everyone who takes part will receive a copy of the book to keep. You do not need to read the book beforehand, the session will introduce you to the book and you can take your copy away to read and enjoy further.

Sessions are free and take place on

Wednesday 4 October 10.00 – 12.00 at St Aiden’s Church Hall in Framwellgate Moor

Wednesday 11 October 11.00am – 1.00pm at North Road Methodist Church

Places are limited so get in touch to book a place.
