Come Eat at The Saxon Inn

We love heritage and one of our new lunch clubs is at The Saxon Inn, located in the historic village of Escomb, is serving up delicious two course lunches exclusively for the over 50’s. Running on the second Wednesday of each month, it’s been the perfect opportunity to for those who live alone, or need a break from caring to enjoy a freshly cooked bar meal.

Paul, landlord of the Saxon Inn said, “Together with Age UK County Durham’s Come Eat Together Team we have worked with older people in the area to set up a lunch where people can enjoy good food in good company”.

Louise Haymer Development Worker added, “The lunch has been running for two months now and has proved very popular. It’s a chance to catch up with new and old friends over a delicious meal, with the added bonus of no washing up”.

Anyone over 50 living in the Bishop Auckland and surrounding areas is invited along to enjoy a two course meal with tea and coffee, followed by an activity for £7.00.
