Age UK County Durham’s Come Eat Together Team have been working in partnership with Spectrum Leisure Complex in Willington to bring the over 50’s in the area together with food.
Taking place monthly on the second Tuesday of the month 11.00am-1.00pm participants will have the chance to enjoy traditional favourites such as shepherd’s pie, mince and dumplings and roast dinners, followed by a dessert, with the added bonus of no washing up.
Alison from Spectrum said, “It’s not just lunch on offer, there’s also the chance to catch up with new and old friends over a cuppa. As well as joining in a variety of after lunch activities such as informative talks, taster sessions and quizzes”
Louise Haymer Development Worker added, “We are also keen for local people to have a say in how the lunch will run and what activities people would like to be involved in. Therefore we would like to invite people along to a free taster session on Tuesday 14th February, 11.00am until 1.00pm. It’s your chance to get involved and taste the food on offer”.
Booking is essential for the taster session. Click here to download the poster/flier
The regular lunch club begins on Tuesday 14 March at 1.00pm with two courses for £5.00.
