  1. Loneliness is a problem faced by people of all ages, and all circumstances. The advantage of being elderly (over 50) is that AGE UK offers a range of events to bring people together. It gives opportunity to meet up with other people at some regular intervals and to look forward to seeing people who they have spoken to or been introduced too at a previous event. It is important for new people to be welcomed and introduced to other members. Please always include visitors.

    • Loneliness is created from a range of circumstances. recently a friend very suddenly bereaved after being married 50 years, is suffering terribly. The family situation does not give her any time or comfort, and the lady who has never belonged to any groups totally misses her lively husband, who she had worked with. She cannot accept her situation.
She does not live in the North East otherwise I could help fill her days.
