The Come Eat Together project isn’t just about dining in style, its also about growing, learning about, talking about and shopping for food with good company thrown in. Here you can see our new short film about how we help with shopping. This film shows the Shildon Shopping Club, but we also operate shopping clubs in Bishop Auckland, Derwentside, Derwent Valley, Weardale and have a new one planned for Wear Valley. If you are interested in helping as a volunteer or would like to join a shopping club, contact us on 0191 374 6577.

this was a fantastic video clip, all of the participants seemed to enjoy the work that the “Come eat together ” team have done. If this could be rolled out across more of the county it would make such a difference to the community. Well done to the team !
Thank you Marjorie for your comments. Yes the shopping club benefits are much greater than just the food in the bags, it includes the good feeling people get from enjoying the company if others!
I thought the film explained and showed the great importance of this help for the elderly. I feel there should be more funding for these project throughout the country. It benefits many areas of life, including isolation which is an issue for so many people, particularly those with mobility issues.
Good luck for the future. Pat xxx
Thanks Pat for your positive feedback.
